our mission
We believe that by making natural and nutritious food abundant, available, and easily accessible, we can revolutionize both food and health. Crave It Foods was created to increase healthy food access in schools.
our approach
Proper nutrition can boost learning; school provides one of the best venues for nourishment. We know that children eat recognizable food in repetition. We focus on designing recipes that are flavorful while meeting exceeding the USDA nutrition standards. In order to create life-long healthy eating habits, early exposure to good food is critical. Our food will provide a new experience for familiar food for kids as their pallets mature.
OUR IMPACT
We want to cure Childhood Obesity within two generations. Crave It Foods believes that our fresh food provides the fundamental connection between human interaction, health/wellness and social responsibility. We provide services to schools with reduced lunch and sponsored meal programs.

OUR STORY
When JC changed her regular routine stopping into the local urban grocery store she realized that she and her infant daughter lived in the middle of a food desert.
Until that time, I'd always driven 25 minutes across town to the farmer's market to support local agriculture. Shocked by my findings, I became determined to make a change in my neighborhood, my schools and my community.
Raised in California, my family ancestry would lead you to mid-western farmland of Indiana. As a child, under the hot California sun I weeded and seeded our family garden; and, as adolescent my grandmother taught me valuable relationships between food and health. She supplied me with a bulk of the family recipes she used to manage her diabetes without medical prescriptions. I recommend that anyone with diabetes to strictly follow your doctor's orders; however, for as long as I can remember, I found great joy in selecting the perfect vegetables, perfecting a meal that would satisfy everyone in my family, even the smallest members.
It became clear that all the work I’d done around sustainability, working in schools to create high performing building systems, building and renovating school kitchens, my passion to create healthy food for kids emerged. Initially, the simplicity of creating nutrient rich meals for my daughter expanded to her friends and their families. Recipe requests increased when I summarized books I'd read . . educational focus + nutritious food consumption = early childhood achievement.
When kids eat Crave It Foods!, I want them to imagine that they are visiting my childhood garden. I want them to experience the fragrance of the apricot, lemon, orange, avocado and plum trees I’d gown up alongside. I want each child to feel the texture of organic spinach, kale and collard greens at their peak flavor. I am committed to create nutrient rich food, not only for my daughter but for all children.
